Greetings and salutations! My name is Alanna and I’m happy to invite you to a safe, nonjudgmental space where your feelings matter.
I like to work with adolescent and adult individuals within an integrative and holistic approach to address daily life and emotional difficulties. Some of the models I use when providing tools and alternative perspectives include solution-focused, emotion-focused, interpersonal, and cognitive-behavioural techniques. The majority of my work includes collaborating with clients who are managing issues related to self-esteem, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, interpersonal relationships, sex, and dating. As a settler living and practicing on Treaty 1 territory, and a proud ally of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, I apply an intersectional feminist and anti-oppressive lens to my work, meeting you where you’re at to validate your unique human experience.
I personally believe that people need people, and that authentic connection with others is one of the greatest tools we can have in our healing journey. I am passionate about creating an environment where my clients can comfortably reflect, explore, and be seen in their vulnerabilities. My work is tailored to individual needs while practicing in values of curiosity and intentionality. When appropriate, I enjoy infusing a sense of humour and play within sessions because I don’t believe that therapy necessarily has to be “hard”. I want to help you be able to shine a compassionate light of the darkness that any of us can encounter and tap into what you really want from your life.
In my free time, I exploring local music, art shows, and restaurants. I also like to read, play guitar, practice yoga, journal, and cuddle my cat.
If we have the opportunity to work together, it would be an honor to get to know you and help you sort through your thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
