Amber Dreger

Individual Psychotherapist (MPCC-P, BN)

With over a decade of experience helping clients in the medical field, it is an easy transition for Amber to be able to walk with you through making sustainable changes in your life that invites more authenticity, self inquiry, and offers a new way of being.

As a white settler on native land, she recognizes the ways in which she benefits from colonization as well as the ongoing harm that Indigenous, Metis and Inuit people face today. She is committed to ongoing education, advocating for change, and practices from an anti-oppressive, anti-racist, anti-carceral and trauma-informed lens.

Amber is a pretty chill, relatable counsellor that will walk alongside you as you navigate life's...."waves arms around".  Many clients are navigating grief, starting over, medical issues, relational issues, ADHD, anxiety or depression. With lived experience of depression, anxiety, burnout, late diagnosis ADHD, she may offer practical tips and psychoeducation, as well as empathetic understanding of how this affects your life.

Using a person-centered approach and eclectic approach guided by curiosity and compassion, Amber views therapy as relational and may integrate interventions from a number of modalities, included, but not limited to: Internal Family Systems, Somatics, Feminist Theory, arts, emotion-focussed and psychodynamic therapies. Outside of the therapy room, Amber can often be found in her community representing several non-profit organizations. She is also a dedicated pet-parent to a rescue dog named Nova, the child-free aunt that is breaking all social norms, and an avid DIY-er. Her most recent project is being a steward of a Free Little Library in her hometown.

If you have been struggling, or maybe just curious, schedule a free 20-minute consultation to see if the vibe is right. It's very important to Amber that you feel comfortable with her and that you collaborate in a meaningful way. Amber welcomes clients aged 16+ from all demographics.
