The independent professionals at Safe Harbour provide a coordinated circle of care to support you and your loved ones journey towards wellness. Well-being is found by finding a balance within your physical, emotional, social, occupational, spiritual, intellectual, and environmental health.

Safe Harbour is unique in that it offers multiple services to resolve distress within all of these dimensions of wellness. Our holistic approaches are cutting edge based on recent research about how the traumas inherent in life affect our bodies and how certain modalities can enhance the body’s own ability to heal using the power within and around us. Our body is made up of many systems that work congruently. Each approach addresses the individual as a whole and thus each system; however, we’ve separated the services to simplify the selection process. Art Therapy.

Art Therapy combines the creative process and psychotherapy, facilitating self-exploration and understanding.  Using imagery, colour and shape as part of this creative therapeutic process, thoughts and feelings can be expressed that would otherwise be difficult to articulate. Working with metaphor and symbols clients can uncover answers to questions lingering, and healing to wounds left unattended.

Authentic Movement.

Authentic Movement is a practice of embodied listening and awareness. In turning attention to inner impulse, not knowing what will unfold, we develop trust in our knowing of what’s right in any given moment.

Block Therapy.

Block Therapy is a very unique form of Bodywork practice that releases adhesions and restrictions of connective tissue, or Fascia, that is ultimately blocking blood flow and oxygen throughout our entire body, and creating a state of disharmony within.

BodyTalk – Access Consciousness Bars.

BodyTalk is a safe and highly effective alternative healthcare system. It is a wholistic approach to healing based on energy medicine. The primary principle of this modality is to balance the bodymind complex, whether individuals have a mental, physical or emotional dysfunction.

Brennan Healing Science.

Holistically, illness is an imbalance of energy. BHS uses various non-invasive, hands-on healing technique to repair, strengthen, clear and re-balance the spiritual energy fields of an individual’s Being: body, mind, and soul.

Clinical Social Work/Therapy.

Clinical Social Work/Therapy is the process of talking to a mental health professional to learn about your moods, feelings, thoughts, and behaviours in order to gain better control and live optimally.

Counselling.

Counselling provides a safe harbour for people to let go and express their thoughts and feelings in order to feel supported and better equipped for dealing with the distress in their lives.

Craniosacral Therapy.

CST is a light touch approach that releases tensions deep in the body allowing the entire body to relax and self-correct.

Dietitician/ Food Freedom Coaching.

Food Freedom Coaching involves gentle nutrition and mindful eating tools: to help end chaotic eating, trust your body, and harness your strengths for balanced nutrition and true well-being.

EMDR Psychotherapy.

EMDR assists the brain in processing distressing memories in which you feel stuck so you can use present information to live your life with ease.

Healing Touch.

Healing Touch uses gentle, light or near-body touch to help clear, balance, energize and support the human energy system to facilitate and support healing of the mind, body and spirit. Healing Touch is a complementary therapy and can be used with traditional therapies, it may restore harmony and balance in the body’s energy system creating an optimal environment to self-heal.

Integrative Hypnotherapy.

Mindfulness – presence is achieved on purpose for a particular reason. Combining mindful awareness, meditation/breathing techniques and yoga to bring you into the moment and expand your conscious awareness. In this way you access the most elevated version of yourself.

Marriage and Family Therapy.

Marriage and Family Therapy provides support in the restoration of conflicted relationships within self, between partners, and families.

Massage Therapy.

Massage therapy assesses the body, tests for muscle and joint pathologies, treats symptoms through manual therapy, and provides self help strategies to maintain optimal capacity in your day to day life.

Naturopathic Medicine.

Naturopathic Medicine is a primary health care profession that uses an individualized approach to identify the origin of disease, considers the whole person, and treats the root cause by supporting the body’s natural ability to heal to remove obstacles that may be impeding your health.

Neurotechnology.

By helping the brain to optimize its own rhythms, neurotechnology may help individuals in achieving restful sleep, overcoming worry and anxiety, increasing energy levels, and enhancing performance.

Occupational Therapy.

OT helps to prevent or minimize problems that interfere with a person’s ability to function around the house, at work/school, and within the community.

Qi Gong and Tai Chi.

QiGong and Tai Chi are two kinds of energy work developed centuries ago in China as a means of using the body’s own resources to achieve optimal mental and physical well being.

Reflexology.

Reflexology can restore and maintain the body’s natural balance and facilitate it’s innate ability to heal after illness, stress, injury, or disease. Using sensitive, trained hand positioning, a Reflexology practitioner can detect and release tiny imbalances or blockages.

Relational Energy Therapy.

The relational energetic connections with family, friends, and others that come into our lives, form between the chakras in the individuals involved in each relationship. Those connections reflect the quality of the relationship (alive, toxic, or in between) and thus our ability to create our own reality and give meaning to what happens in our lives.
