Deborah Lawani (she/her)

Registeed Psychiatric Nurse & Qualifying Certified Psychotherapy Nurse (RPN, MSc, BSPN, BSc, CPN-Q)

Deborah has extensive experience supporting children, youth, adults, older adults, couples, and families in hospital, community, rehabilitation, and mental health settings.
As a Black woman, immigrant, and settler living and practising on Treaty 1 Territory, Deborah is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, culturally responsive, and non-judgmental space where every client feels seen, heard, and valued. She believes healing begins through genuine connection and works collaboratively with clients to build on their strengths while navigating life's challenges.
Deborah supports clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, relationship concerns, stress, emotional regulation difficulties, life transitions, self-esteem challenges, caregiver burnout, and cultural adjustment. She also welcomes healthcare professionals, newcomers, and clients who wish to integrate faith and spirituality into therapy.
Her work is person-centred, trauma-informed, strengths-based, and evidence-informed, integrating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, motivational interviewing, psychoeducation, and attachment-informed practices to meet each client's unique needs and goals.
Outside of the therapy room, Deborah enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, serving in her church community, reading, and lifelong learning.
Whether you are seeking support, healing, or personal growth, Deborah would be honoured to walk alongside you. You are welcome to connect by email or book an appointment online
