I recognize that I am the descendant of colonizers in Treaty 1 territory and that the traumatic effects of colonization are far reaching. I often find myself addressing how normalized we’ve become to this trauma. One of the most common examples of this is how we get stuck in “who is right and who is wrong” mentality when navigating our relationships to ourself and others. As an answer to this, my approach is one of compassion, non judgment and seeking out the authenticity of everyone in my care. To achieve this, I use the Gottman method to establish scientifically based metrics of success. To attain these metrics, I use a combination of Internal Family Systems and Attachment based therapies. I find this approach appeals to a broad spectrum of clients regardless of demographics. That being said, I have found that I can offer a particularly attuned approach to men aged 10 and up.
My therapist training included over 500 clinicial hours, with half of that focused on couples and families. In September 2020, I began working professionally and have since accumulated nearly 5000 hours of experience.
In my private life, I am focused on maintaining a very healthy lifestyle. I have a home gym but also go to a local fitness facility. I enjoy running at least once a week. Craft fairs, local music and traveling also form part of the repertoire of my hobbies.
